Kenya is a country that is in East Africa and lies along the Indian Ocean.  Kenya spans an area about 85% of the size of France.  The population is a little over 38 million people. Kenya attracts many tourists being that they have numerous wildlife reserves and thousand of animal species.  Kenya is named after Mount Kenya the highest mountain peak in Africa.  The country gained it's independence form the United Kingdom in December 12, 1963.  The country is Governed by President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Ralia Odinga. Kenya's currency is the Kenyan shilling(KES) and is used all over the country.  The languages that are spoken in the country are English and Swahili.
