Mission Link Privacy Policy

Mission Link appreciates you for choosing to support our organization, and because of this relationship, we are committed to respecting your privacy and security. We work hard to protect any personal information you provide to our ministry. It is important that we maintain a relationship of trust and confidence with you, our supporters. We would like to share our privacy policy with you so that you are aware of our security practices.

There are three ways we collect information from prospective donors and supporters:

1. From donations or purchases made through the mail or through our website

2. From people requesting information or materials from Mission Link

3. From people participating in events hosted by Mission Link or a Mission Link donor on behalf of Mission Link

The information we obtain is voluntarily provided by you when choosing to support a project, sponsor a widow, or request to receive information from Mission Link. The information you provide includes name, address, city, state, ZIP code, telephone number, and email address. If you use your credit card, the number and expiration date will also be collected only by our payment processing service providers to complete the transaction, and are never stored by Mission Link or any of its staff or employees.

Gathering this personal information allows us to update you on ministry projects, complete a transaction, and issue a tax receipt for donations. Your credit card information is used solely to complete the transaction and is not retained for any other purposes. Our accounting office has access to limited financial data to allow them to view details of each transaction to properly direct designated funds. Mission Link, itself, cannot process credit card donations, which is why we use a limited number of trusted service providers (see our full list of service providers below).

If you use our online services, as you browse missionlink.org, advertising cookies will be placed on your computer so we can better cater to your interests.

Securing Personal Information

When collecting and transferring sensitive data of our donors, including personal information and credit card details, Mission Link wants to ensure the security of this information. Appropriate procedures have been established to prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure proper use of the information. We utilize Internet encryption technology, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Protocol, which encrypts your information as it is entered on our website from your computer. The encrypted information reaches our office and is sent to a few trusted service providers (see list of service providers above). And all credit card information remains encrypted.

Effective Use of Resources

We want to assure you that all information you provide us is kept securely. In order to help locate more people like you who share your passion for sharing the gospel and rescuing widows in poverty, we may disclose some of your mailing, phone information, and statistics such as total number and value of donations for a set period of time with select trusted third parties. However, rest assured that none of that information is self-identifiable, only generic data to help with our marketing efforts.

This disclosure is done very carefully to protect your personal information and ultimately allows us to expand our reach and connect with more like-minded donors to provide help and hope around the world.

If you do not wish to receive future communication from Mission Link, or simply wish to receive less communication, you have the opportunity to opt out of communication by removing your email address from the list or documenting you wish to receive fewer mailings or do not wish to receive any mailings to your address on file. Our emails include a link so you can unsubscribe or change your preferences.
